Group Therapy Q & A

What is group therapy?

Group therapy at We Are Hope is a form of therapy that engages multiple people during the same treatment session. You can share your experiences and hear from others who might have similar challenges. Group therapy offers emotional, social, and professional support for common mental health concerns you may struggle with.

Who benefits from group therapy?

A We Are Hope specialist may suggest group therapy for you or a loved one suffering from:

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Substance use disorder
  • Other addictions
  • Eating disorders
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Phobias
  • Panic attacks
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Mood disorders
  • Personality disorder
  • Factitious disorder
  • Learning disabilities
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Schizophrenia
  • Family conflicts
  • Poor interpersonal relationships

We Are Hope offers an intensive outpatient program that allows patients to overcome common mental health challenges.

The day treatment program is five days a week, five hours daily, separated by age group. The treatment provides services for adults, teenagers, and children using therapeutic, fun programming.

We Are Hope partners with the Clark County Department of Family Services (DFS), the Department of Juvenile Justice Services (DJJS), and the Clark County School District (CCSD) to carry out life-changing programs.

What should I expect during group therapy?

During group therapy sessions at We Are Hope, a specialist leads a group of people struggling with similar mental health concerns. They offer advice about ways to alter thought and behavior patterns to overcome bothersome symptoms and improve performance at work, in school, and in interpersonal relationships.

You’ll also learn effective strategies to help break addictive habits. You may talk with and receive support from other group members.

You might meet with a therapist weekly, several times weekly, or as needed.
